The chimney Halgerda (Halgerda batangas) has a white body with soft, hair-like protrusions that resemble fine velvet. Its surface is decorated with irregularly sized dark brown, circular spots and raised bumps. With its plush-like appearance, it has been playfully nicknamed “cuddly bear” by divers. This species mainly inhabits tropical coral reefs and often appears in Taiwan's Northeast Coast, Xiaoliuqiu, Green Island, and Penghu.
