[New Arrival] Wooden Kā-tsí

Wooden Kā-tsí|Preserving Taiwan’s Everyday Language Through Wood

Have you ever seen those vibrant red, blue, and green woven bags at the corner of a traditional market?
Known as “Kā-tsí,” these iconic Taiwanese bags trace their name back to the Japanese word “かぎ編み (kagiami),” meaning crochet.
Originally crafted by hand with rush grass (Cyperus malaccensis), they later evolved into semi-transparent nylon totes—becoming a familiar sight in Taiwan’s everyday street scenes.

The red, blue, and green color scheme has become a symbol of "Taiwanese flavor."
We reinterpret this collective memory using maple wood and Valchromat, blending tradition with design.
Inspired by the classic silhouette and bold colors of Kā-tsí, we’ve created a mini wooden cardholder—a new form of craftsmanship rooted in daily life.

From the markets to modern design, Kā-tsí is more than just a bag.
It’s a language of living that belongs to us.
